FLOW STRAIGHTENER WITH BUNDLE OF 19 TUBES
Flow straightener is generally designed for elimination or significant reduction of stream turbulence without re-generation of velocity profile, which means that it does not create acceptable conditions of flow defined in ISO 5167-1 standard. Flow straightener contributes to elimination of large deformations of velocity profile and thus to gross errors in flow measurement. Flow straightener with bundle of 19 tubes can be used for all kinds of fluids, including for gases and liquids.
Flow straightener with bundle of tubes contains bundle of parallel tubes that are in contact and fixed to each other and mounted inside the pipe. In the straightener there is a bundle of 19 tubes. Their length is higher or equal to 10dt, where dt is outer diameter of the embedded tube. These tubes are interconnected and the whole bundle is leaning against the inner wall of the pipe.
Coefficient of loss in pressure K for flow straightener with bundle of tubes generally depends on number of tubes and thickness of their walls. For flow straightener with bundle of 19 tubes coefficient of loss in pressure is approximately K = 0.75.
Flow straightener with bundle of 19 tubes in pipeline is mostly embedded in the flanged joint. Except for CSN standards, sealing surfaces on flanges can be made also in compliance with EN, DIN, GOST, American ASME and ANSI standards (RF, RTJ) or, on request and specification of the customer.
Flow straighteners with bundle of 19 tubes are mostly made of carbon or stainless steel.
On requirement of the customer other materials can be used, too.
Flow straightener can be incorporated in horizontal or vertical piping.
Flow straightener with bundle of 19 tubes can be placed upstream any fitting with the orifice plate whose diameter ratio is 0.67 or lower, subject to conditions for installation defined by ISO 5167-2 standard.
Flow straightener with bundle of 19 tubes can be also used to shorten required straight lengths downstream the orifice plate. Allowed placements of flow straightener with bundle of 19 tubes depend on the distance of orifice plate to the nearest previous fitting.
