NON ELECTRIC LEVEL METER
Non-electric level meters are used for direct optical indication of the level in pressure tank. These level meters are functioning on the principle of joined vessels and can be used for any type of fluid, if the fluid and used material of the level indicator do not show any chemical reaction. The level indicator is directly connected to the fluid in the tank, and therefore it shows immediate level during filling. Shutoff valves provide safe operation under working conditions. Non electric level meters can be used for all types of fluids, pressures and temperatures. Parameters for utilization of level meters are always indicated on the label. Fluids that may crystallize on the level indicator, or may form deposits, are not suitable for indication of the level due to inaccurate indication of the level.
Non-electric lever meters make an integral part of pressure tanks. By-pass chamber is mounted on the tank wall or on the vessel by two mechanical connections. The flange connection guarantees that the position of the level in the level indicator chamber precisely corresponds to the position of the fluid level in the tank or reservoir.
Non-electric level meters have a great advantage of robust, reliable and simple structural layout. Their another advantage is that the non-electric level meters do not show any electrical signal and show the measured value directly on the level indicator. Therefore, they don’t need any electronic level sensors or other electrical inputs/outputs necessary for its processing in the superior system.
Mostly used material for the production of non-electric level indicators is carbon steel. If the non-electric level meters are used for measurements of levels in an aggressive medium, the level meter can be made of stainless steel. For the measurements of levels of high pressure and high temperature fluids it is recommended to produce the non-electric level meter of refractory steels such as alloyed steels 14MoV6-3/15 128, 10CrMo9-10/11CrMo910, 13CrMo4-5, 16Mo3 and X10CrMoVNb9-1.
